Etoiles Urbaines

Meh, so much for my one post a week rule. It'll probably become more like once a week when I get back to work and studying etc. I just couldn't help myself though...here is another Fafi related video that I found whilst traipsing around on YouTube - this time there are lots of other artists featured as well, including Microbo, which some people may have heard of. If not, go check her out, she's very kool.

I first found out about Microbo and Blu (from my previous post) in the Street Sketchbook by Tristan Manco. I was given it for Christmas by some people who knew I was into Banksy and the whole Street Art scene; it's a really good book, and has some great, almost secret drawings that most people would never have seen had the artists not been so generous as to show off their private sketches and doodles and bare their notebook souls in the book.

I keep getting the " and @ buttons mixed up on this computer. I miss my work Mac so much *_* !

Blu, Fafi and Pride and Prejudice

Okay, so welcome back! For my first post - after the intro one, I don't think that one really counts as a first post - I thought I'd put up some vids I found on my interweb searches in the world of graffiti. The vid is called "Muto" and is done by Blu, a very kool street artist who I think is from Italy. It's kinda old (well, only a few months, but in internet terms, that's pretty darn ancient) but I really liked it when I first found it and thought I'd share it anyway. Talk about dedication! I can't tell if the graff is animated or he actually did it all:

Another good one is this: This one is of Fafi, a french (Parisian?) street artist who's done some stuff for Adidas and LeSportsac, among other fab works. She's very talented and deserves some love, so go check her out; a link to her site.

I've been watching the BBC adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice" for the first time, and it's pretty good :). I've seen the film lots of times, so I know the story and everything. But Colin Firth IS Mr Darcy. Squeee! He's so adorable. What with all his brooding and smouldering eyes *takes a deep breath*...okay, fangirl moment over.

Hello!

Well, I've had this blog for a couple weeks now and I've only just gotten around to writing this first post...finally! You can find some really profound things on a blog - people's thoughts, their likes and dislikes, things they wouldn't tell people they know 'irl', but because it's out in the nether-like cloud of cyberspace, they feel confident to do so. That's why it's taken me a little while to start this off. I didn't want to just spew something out onto the page, like word vomit; I wanted to be interesting and engaging, perhaps even funny.

Whether or not I was successful, I guess is up to you.

So, what do you want to know? My name is Jaye. I like colours, particularly in the form of marker pens and/or crayons, and designing things. These things can be characters, words, moving (or not) pictures and doodly sketches. I don't like peas or mayonnaise. I think scrawlers should be made to clean up their work and learn from the masters of street art, some of which I’ve got up in the ol’ blog roll on the right. I also work in the world of viral marketing, and may post up some ads or campaigns I’ve come across from time to time. Maybe I’ll even discuss movies and music and the like.

So if you’re interested, pull up a chair and hang out for a while. I can’t promise to post like all the time or anything, but I’ll try to get something up at least once a week. I’ve got a whole notebook of neat stuff I’ve found on t’interweb and (whilst I know a lot of bloggers do this) I’m gonna put some of it up on here for you to enjoy.

Check y'all later.

Jaye
